Wedding Wednesday – Lace Program

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  You know what Wednesday means around here – Wedding Wednesday, the place where brides on a budget can find beautiful and affordable wedding stationery!  Today’s design has been a long time coming.  If you’ve been keeping up with Wedding Wednesday, you might remember that I’m a huge fan of stationery sets, or coordinating paper products for your entire wedding.  Well, I’ve only come up with a couple matching sets so far, and I wanted to create a program to match one of my more popular invitation designs.  This is the one I’m talking about:

Classic, elegant, dramatic. Hand-stamped and embossed lace and lace punch border make this design timeless!

I recently created a Thank You note design to match:

Show your appreciation in elegant style with these Thank You cards

…And I’ve finally created a program to complete the basic collection!  Have a look:

Lace program 1As you can see, this 5 x 7″ program features the same lace stamp and border as the invitation design.  The fonts are also the same and are only a sample of the many fonts available for you to choose.  The satin ribbon bow adds a pop of vibrant color and a touch of class, and it’s a great way to make your programs match your wedding colors.  This program opens to the side to reveal 2 full pages for your ceremony and wedding party details:

Thank you for stopping by for Wedding Wednesday!  If you like what you’ve seen, please share it with your friends using the Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter buttons below this post, or feel free to email the link to friends and family.  If you have any questions, would like more information, or are interested in placing an order, send me a message through the Contact Me page on this blog.  I look forward to chatting with you!

Have a lovely day!

Wedding Wednesday – Small, Elegant, Monogrammed Program

Hey everyone!  I know it’s been a while, sorry about that.  Been keeping busy!  But I’m back this week for Wedding Wednesday, the place for Brides on a Budget who want beautiful wedding stationery without the giant price tag.  This week I have another program design for you.  Take a look:

small monogram program 1

This beauty measures 6 x 4″ and features a delicate monogram, embossed flourish, and a 1/8″ satin ribbon double bow.

On the inside you’ll find 2 pages available for text.  The wedding party is listed on the first page, the ceremony is on pages 2 and 3, and on the fourth page is a note to friends and family.

The cover of this program is made from 65# parchment cardstock and the inner pages are 70# solid text paper.  These programs fit nicely in your hands because of their smaller size, and they still have plenty of room to fit all of your information.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Wedding Wednesday creation!  If you like what you saw, please share this post with others you know.  There are buttons below this post for easy sharing on facebook, twitter, and pinterest.  I appreciate all your sharing and support more than I can express!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Wednesday – Paddle Fan Programs for an Outdoor Wedding

Happy Hump Day!  Thanks to a certain insurance company, I now picture a talking camel saying “What day is it? Do you know what day it is?” every Wednesday.  Ah, hump day.

And of course, to make this day even better, it’s Wedding Wednesday!  The perfect place for brides on a budget looking for affordable wedding stationary.  A while back I posted a sneak-peek picture for one of my first big projects, and I’m finally getting around to the whole look!  Better late than never, right?

I was asked to make paddle fan programs for an outdoor summer wedding with a Victorian theme – keys, lace, pearls, and other such loveliness.  Here’s what I came up with:

fan programs 2

A lace doily corner stamp, gold embossed bird cage, and a lovely embossed bird graced the front of the program.

And on the back the birdcage appeared again with a lace border stamp.  The upper corners were punched with a scalloped design, and the bottom corners were rounded.  I just love the elegant font they chose, don’t you?

I do wish I’d taken a couple minutes to get more professional pictures of these beauties, but oh well!  I was excited to get them packaged and on their way.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Wedding Wednesday!  If you like these programs, please share this post on facebook, twitter, pinterest, and any other way you can think of!  It means the world to me to have your support.  And as always, feel free to contact me if you have questions or are interested in placing an order!  Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Wednesday – Recycled Paper Wedding Program

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I’m very excited to share another new design with you today!  Since my “Natural Invitations” design on recycled paper has proven to be one of my most popular, and because I’m a HUGE fan of continuity across a line of stationary, I decided to create a program to match the Natural Invites.  Have a look and let me know what you think:

The finished product measures 7″ x 4.25″ and features distressed edges, embossed floral image, twine bow, and a “love” watermark.  Have a look at the inside:

The first page has space for your wedding party, as well as a plaque with your names and ceremony information

The second page has plenty of space for all the details of the ceremony

As usual, this design is easy to customize and great for brides on a budget – not to mention the 100% recycled paper and natural hemp cord are environmentally friendly!  If you’re interested in placing an order for this program or any of my other designs, feel free to contact me through this blog or email me at papermelodyscreations@gmail.com.  If you know someone who might like this design, please share it with them!  And even if you don’t know anyone personally, please go ahead and share this post on your facebook, twitter, and pinterest pages using the buttons below.  I appreciate your support more than I can express!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day!

Wedding Wednesday: What to Include in Your Wedding Programs

Hello, everyone!  It’s another Wedding Wednesday, and since I don’t have a new design to show you (yet! I’m working on a couple things I’m super excited about), I thought I’d write an informative post.  Several of the brides I have worked with haven’t had the slightest idea where to start in regards to what information to put in their programs, so I’ve come up with a list of wedding program “must-haves” and thought I’d share it with you all! Hopefully it will be of some help to all the other brides out there who just don’t know where to start and want to know what to include in wedding programs:

The Basics

First things first, make sure you’ve got the basic information somewhere.  Who’s getting married?  What date?  What time?  Where?  Usually this information is found on the front or first page of the program and looks something like this:

Alice & Joseph

November 9, 2013

Six o’clock in the evening

First Presbyterian Church of Badin

Badin, North Carolina

There are several little variations possible, including (but not limited to):

  • include full names (Alice Jane Smith & Joseph Timothy Matthews)
  • add a line like “The Wedding Ceremony of” or “The Marriage Ceremony Uniting” or just “The Marriage of” before listing the couple’s names
  • include the day of the week; Saturday, November 9, 2013
  • leave out the time of day

The Wedding Party

Let your guests know who’s who and give everyone the recognition they deserve for being a part of your special day

  • Officiant
  • Parents of the Bride
  • Parents of the Groom
  • Grandparents of the Bride and Groom
  • Great-grandparents, if present
  • Maid or Matron of Honor
  • Bridesmaids
  • Flower Girl
  • Best Man
  • Groomsmen
  • Ring bearer
  • Ceremony musicians
  • Ushers
  • Guest book/Registry/Program attendants
  • Wedding director
  • Honored guests

I’ve had a couple people ask about including family members who are not present; generally only those present are listed with the wedding party, but often a line or two is added at the bottom of the list honoring those who “could not be with us today” or “are watching from heaven,” etc.  It’s really up to you!

The Ceremony

This section lets your guests know what’s happening, what to expect, and when to expect it.  It can vary greatly from one wedding to the next, so be sure to check with your officiant and/or wedding director to be certain you have included all pertinent information.  Here are some general guidelines:

  • Prelude
  • Seating of Grandmothers and Mothers
  • Processional
  • Bride’s Processional
  • Order of the Ceremony (specifics generally provided by the officiant)
  • Recessional

Be sure to list the titles and composers of musical pieces, titles/verses of any special readings, their author(s), and names of readers, hymn numbers and in which hymnal they can be found, and any special instructions (for example, whether guests should stand, kneel, remain seated, holler and dance and carry on, or to see the back of the program for the words of a verse they’re all supposed to recite).

Other Stuff

There’s always more!  “Other Stuff” is what makes a wedding program more personal.  Here are a few ideas:

  • Include a thank you note to your guests for coming, everyone who helped make your big day a success, your parents for making it all possible, etc.  I’ve had couples write one or two lines and I’ve had couples write novels.  Some people don’t even worry about this part.  On my designs, notes typically go on the back of the program. If they’re short they might fit on the inside.  If you have a multi-page program, you could write thanks on the very first page.  So many options, I know!
  • Add a line informing your guests that you have made a donation to a charitable foundation in lieu of giving favors
  • Write a quote, Bible verse, or poem that has meaning to you as a couple
  • Display your monogram, initials, or a nice wedding-themed image for a touch of personalization

I hope you found this helpful!  If you have any questions or concerns, are interested in placing an order, or just want to say howdy, feel free to contact me!  Thanks for stopping by!
