Snowflake Christmas Card for Mojo Monday 375

Hello again! ¬†I hope you’re not getting tired of Christmas and winter cards yet, because we still have a couple weeks of them to go ūüôā ¬†Today’s card was made based on this week’s Mojo Monday sketch:

And here’s the card I came up with:

It’s hard to beat pearlescent and glittery papers! ¬†The large snowflake is a wooden ornament, but I covered it in Perfect Pearls to make it fit the card a bit better. ¬†Here’s the inside:

And there you have it!  I hope you found some inspiration from my card.  Have a lovely day!

Merry Christmas Joy Fold Card

Merry Christmas Joy Fold Card for Mojo Monday and Craft Hoarders Anonymous

Hello again and happy Wednesday! ¬†I’ve been listening to Christmas music non-stop this week to get my mind into the “holiday crafting” mode – do you do that? ¬†I find it really helpful. ¬†Anyway, today’s card is doing double duty; I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and am playing along with Challenge #21¬†at Craft Hoarders Anonymous! ¬†Here’s the sketch and challenge description:

Challenge #21 Celebrate the Season

Raise your hands if you hoard Christmas or other winter holiday items! Who has a drawer full of¬† “retired” holiday papers and embellishments? Who goes crazy over the candy cane ribbons or the sparkly embellishments? Share a winter or seasonal holiday project with us. We would love to see your Christmas projects, but you may also enter Hanukkah,Kwanza, New Year’s, other holiday celebration projects, or any winter-themed projects. Celebrate the season with us!

It felt great to pull out all of my Christmas supplies and dig through to find things I’ve had for years. ¬†Here’s the card I came up with:

The paper on this card came from the very first stack of Christmas paper I ever bought…6 or 7 years ago. ¬†It’s so scrumptious and I’m always hesitant to cut into it! ¬†The burlap comes from a newer (but still year-old) stack that I use sparingly even though it’s practically full. ¬†I have a problem and need help ūüėõ ¬†The dimensional poinsettia sticker has been in my stash for years as well, and I now have just 2 like it left! ¬†I keep having to remind myself that if I¬†use¬†up my stash I can buy MORE!!! ¬†hehe.

This is a Joy Fold card, which makes it kind of neat.

And now the inside:

The Merry Christmas stamp comes from one of my first sets, and the holly leaves usually sit untouched for no good reason at all.  I like the way they look together!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a lovely day!

October 31st with Crafty Secrets and Mojo Monday

October 31st Card for Crafty Secrets and Mojo Monday 369

Hello, everyone! ¬†Halloween is almost here, can you believe it? ¬†Today’s card gets in the spirit of things and is made with Crafty Secrets items. ¬†It’s also based on this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. ¬†Take a look:

October 31st 1

The patterned papers are from the Crafty Secrets Halloween CD, and the neat little sign is from the Halloween Greeting Creative Scraps. ¬†I fussy cut the sign and added some Glossy Accents, then popped it onto foam squares. ¬†The ribbons and feathers (!!! I was soooo excited to finally use feathers on a card!) are from my stash. ¬†This card measures 6 x 3.5″ – a little unusual, but that’s because the theme at Mojo Monday this week is “Tall & Skinny.” ¬†Here’s the sketch:

And finally, the inside:

October 31st 2

Those adorable little pumpkin letters are from the Halloween Treats Sticker Sheet. ¬†Both the sticker sheet and the Creative Scraps are included in the Halloween and Fall Sale Pack¬†or sold separately, but remember the Sale Pack comes with a ton of extra stuff (and it’s being sold at a 65% discount!!!).

That’s it! ¬†I hope you enjoyed my card! ¬†Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Mojo Monday 331 and Dynamic Duos: You Hold a Special Place in My Heart

Hello, everyone! ¬†I hope your Monday is off to a great start. ¬†Today I’m playing along with the Mojo Monday¬†and Dynamic Duos challenges again, and I’ve made another valentine. ¬†Check out the sketch and colors:

Pretty great, don’t you think? ¬†Here’s what I came up with:

special place 1

As soon as I saw the sketch I thought of the arrow paper for the fishtail banner and knew I had to play along this week! ¬†I picked a couple coordinating papers, keeping it simple, cut everything down to size, and die cut a few hearts. ¬†Then, I found the epoxy sticker in my stash and had my sentiment! ¬†My favorite part of this card is the red twine clothesline with the heart clipped on. ¬†Tiny clothes pins are just¬†so cute! ¬†I can’t stand it!

I used more of the same paper and another epoxy sticker on the inside:

And there you have it! ¬†Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it, and if you still need a card for a friend or special someone, this one is available. ¬†Just shoot me a message or look for it in my Etsy shop in a couple days.

Don’t forget to make your own cards for Mojo Monday and Dynamic Duos! ¬†This week is contest week at Mojo Monday, so enter your creation(s) for a chance to win a prize. ¬†Thanks for stopping by!

Shabby Chic Valentine for Mojo Monday and Dynamic Duos

Hello everyone, and happy Monday! ¬†I’ve got another Valentine for you today, this one inspired by both the Mojo Monday and Dynamic Duos challenges. ¬†Below you’ll see the sketch and colors for this week’s challenges:

And here’s the card I came up with:

As you can see, ¬†I turned the sketch on its side and changed up some of the shapes – that’s what I love about sketch challenges, you can really make them your own. ¬†I started by embossing a piece of white cardstock with my Spellbinders “Butterfly” Impressabilities for a lovely, subtle texture. ¬†Then, I used a couple newly-acquired dies (they were on super clearance at Michaels…72% off, I couldn’t resist!) for the sentiment label and striped tab, and a border die to create the decorative stripe in the pink rose paper. ¬†I applied the sentiment – a rub-on I’ve had in my stash for a while now – and set about layering everything. ¬†Once I had all the layers where I wanted them, I stitched around the edges as messily as my perfectionist self would allow and adhered everything to the card base. ¬†I popped the sentiment up on foam squares and added a few pearls and handmade flowers for decoration.

I kept the inside relatively simple with another rub-on sentiment and some space for a little note:

And that’s it! ¬†I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it! ¬†It’s available for sale, so contact me if it’s just what you’ve been looking for ūüôā

Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day!
