Romantic Shabby Chic Valentine with Crafty Secrets

Happy Monday, everyone!  Are you making the most of this long weekend?  I’m certainly enjoying it!  Anyway, I have a Valentine to share with you today.  I made this one with several digital items from Crafty Secrets, including the Heart to Heart digital art stamps, Be My Valentine digital stamps, paper from the Valentine E-kit, and paper from the Radiant collection.  Whew!  Have a look:

I started by opening my papers in Photoshop, adjusting the colors, layering them digitally, and printing.  Then, I opened my various stamps in Word, sized them, and printed them on pink vellum (Tip: use the “quick print” or “draft” option if you have problems with ink smearing).  Then, I had a grand old time distressing edges, inking and spritzing, stitching, gluing, cutting…you get the idea 🙂  The hardest part was arranging all those swirly rhinestones to perfection.  I spent a long time arranging those.  They were originally one large swirly, but I cut the large swirly apart and rearranged the pieces.  Another tip: leave the rhinestones on the plastic backing until you’re ready to place them permanently.

Crafty Secrets Feminine Birthday Card

Crafty Secrets Feminine Birthday Card

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Today I have a lovely feminine birthday card made with Crafty Secrets papers and digital stamps to share with you.  Take a look:

its your day 1

The blue and pink papers came from the Pastel Paper Pad, and I only had to use 1 double-sided sheet for the entire card!  I was pretty excited about that.  I didn’t capture it very well in the picture, but the light pink paper (from a handmade stack a dear friend gave to me) is embossed with roses for some subtle texture.  Some lace and ribbon flowers finished it off nicely.

Here’s the inside:

its your day 2

The sentiments came from the Grand Greetings digital stamp set, and were perfect for this little card!

There you have it!  I hope you enjoyed today’s Crafty Secrets card.  Don’t forget to join the August Linky Party – you have until August 17th – and get a $6 store credit!  One random winner will receive a $50 store credit, and it could be you!  If you don’t have any Crafty Secrets products, don’t worry.  There are a whole bunch of free designs listed on the sidebar of the blog, so go grab some and play along 🙂  Also, there’s a big Summer Blowout Sale going on right now – a pack worth $77 on sale for $19.95.  Can’t beat it!

Wedding Wednesday – Lace Program

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  You know what Wednesday means around here – Wedding Wednesday, the place where brides on a budget can find beautiful and affordable wedding stationery!  Today’s design has been a long time coming.  If you’ve been keeping up with Wedding Wednesday, you might remember that I’m a huge fan of stationery sets, or coordinating paper products for your entire wedding.  Well, I’ve only come up with a couple matching sets so far, and I wanted to create a program to match one of my more popular invitation designs.  This is the one I’m talking about:

Classic, elegant, dramatic. Hand-stamped and embossed lace and lace punch border make this design timeless!

I recently created a Thank You note design to match:

Show your appreciation in elegant style with these Thank You cards

…And I’ve finally created a program to complete the basic collection!  Have a look:

Lace program 1As you can see, this 5 x 7″ program features the same lace stamp and border as the invitation design.  The fonts are also the same and are only a sample of the many fonts available for you to choose.  The satin ribbon bow adds a pop of vibrant color and a touch of class, and it’s a great way to make your programs match your wedding colors.  This program opens to the side to reveal 2 full pages for your ceremony and wedding party details:

Thank you for stopping by for Wedding Wednesday!  If you like what you’ve seen, please share it with your friends using the Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter buttons below this post, or feel free to email the link to friends and family.  If you have any questions, would like more information, or are interested in placing an order, send me a message through the Contact Me page on this blog.  I look forward to chatting with you!

Have a lovely day!

It’s Your Birthday Card – Lace Doilies and Handmade Backgrounds

Hello again!  I’ve really been enjoying all the time I’ve had recently to make fun cards.  It’s very refreshing!  Today’s card was pretty quick and easy to make and turned out to be quite striking.  Take a look:

It's Your Birthday 1

This card measures 4 x 5.5″ and is of the most basic construction – 2 layers of paper and a raised sentiment.  The cool thing is, I made that lovely blue paper in the background!  I started by stamping the large lace doily onto white paper and embossing it in black.  Then, I used my Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks with my blending tool to create a nice gradient.  I spritzed it with water, heat set it, then stamped the two smaller doilies with StazOn Stone Gray.  The sentiment is raised on a Spellbinders tag die cut that I heat embossed twice with silver powder.  The heat embossing gives a bit more dimension than just die cutting silver paper.

And, of course, I had to make the inside match!  I kept it simple with a couple stamps and small sentiment:

It's Your Birthday 2

That’s it for today, folks!  Thanks for stopping by, have a good one!
