Crafty Secrets Farm Chicks Blog Hop

Hey Chickie card for the Crafty Secrets Farm Chicks Blog Hop

Crafty Secrets Farm Chicks Blog Hop

Hello again, and happy Monday!  Today I’m taking part in the Crafty Secrets Farm Chicks Blog Hop along with the rest of the crazy creative designers on the Crafty Secrets Team.  Each design team member has used the new Farm Chicks Digital Art Stamps, or the new Digital Chicken Farm Print paper…or both to create a fabulous chicken themed project to inspire and delight you!   If you are coming here from Gloria’s blog, then you are right on track. If not, you can go back to the Crafty Secrets Blog and follow the links.

Here’s the card I came up with:

Hey Chickie card for the Crafty Secrets Farm Chicks Blog Hop!

I used 5 stamps from the Farm Chicks digital stamp set and red tweed paper from the Kitchen Memories kit.  I sized everything in Word (as usual!), printed, then set to work coloring all those chickens with my colored pencils.  Once everything was colored, I played around with some layers, stitched around the edges, and glued it all together!  The last little touch was a bit of brown jute string to tie the “Hey Chickie” tag onto the burlap bow.

Here’s the inside:

As you can see, I repeated the large stamp, checkered border, and stitched edges to keep things consistent.  What do you think?

Every great blog hop needs a prize, and one lucky winner will receive their very own set of the Farm Chicks Digital Art Stamps and the digital Chicken Farm Paper, too. To win, simply visit every blog listed below and leave a nice comment.  Then, finish up this hop on the Crafty Secrets BLOG and let us know that you’ve visited and commented on all the designers’ blogs.  The winner will be randomly chosen from one of the blog comments on one of the designer’s blogs.  How fun is that?

From here, you should strut on over to visit Michele’s fabulous blog.  She has a wonderful project to share with you, and is the next link on the hop!  Have a lovely day and a wonderful time at the farm!

Wow, this is such a fabby card! I love the burlap and twine touches, and the coloring is beautiful. The inside could easily be the outside of another card. Thanks for another wonderful project, Melody!

So much I love here Melody. The burlap and twine is perfect and pure country, you are amazingly talented at using coloured pencils, perfect combo of papers, and I’m jealous at how fantastic your sewing skills on that border are. I simply must drag the old machine out again and see if I can’t manage to sew something other that my fingernail (yes I did actually do that)

I love that pink gingham paper! And the funky circles on the front…awesome. Your inside is just as pretty as the outside!!! I so wish I could learn to sew on my cards. I love the look, but I am very frightened of my sewing machine. I think that it has plans to do me harm…… It plots against me. I can hear it whispering from the closet….whisper whisper whisper….

Oh my goodness it’s totally charming i every way…just what a Farm Chick card should look like : ) The warm colors make it so rustic looking…this would be really fun in a wooden frame and hung as decor : )
