Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #15 – All the Pretty Flowers

Happy Monday, everyone!  I’m writing to you today as a guest designer for the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog, and I’m awfully excited to be a part of the September challenges!  The current challenge is #15, and here are the details:

Challenge #15 All the Pretty Flowers
This challenge is for all of you flower hoarders! Maybe you hoard pre-made flowers. Maybe you hoard flower punches or dies. Maybe you hoard flower stamps. “Dig” out those flowers and use them on your project!
It’s like this challenge was made for me!  I have lots of flowered paper, a bunch of die-cut flowers that are just waiting to be assembled, flower punches waiting to be used, and most of all, pre-made flowers that I take out and admire regularly (but never use).  For this challenge, I decided to finally put to use some of those precious pre-made flowers on a matching card-and-envelope set.  Take a look:

I started with papers from the DCWV Primrose Stack, cut them all to size and distressed them a little bit.  Then, I stamped my favorite “Mr & Mrs” stamp in a blue that I rarely use, fussy cut it, and layered it over a couple die cuts.  I adorned the corners with my Spellbinders Garden Weave die (garden/flowers, same difference…right?), then added some antique blue satin ribbon I had leftover from an order.  I dug through my hoard of buttons (also rarely used because what if I use this button now and need it later? WHAT IF!?) and picked a simple cream button to tie the bow together.  Then, after I’d layered everything to my liking, I pulled out the treasured flowers and started arranging.  I originally planned to use more flowers, to make a veritable garden on my card, but it wasn’t working.  After all, it’s kind of important to see the pretty paper underneath, right?  I was pleased that the paper I did choose had that lovely spray of little blue flowers to give the appearance of a bigger garden, so to speak.  Anyway, here’s the inside of the card:

Yes, I fussy cut those little tiny flowers.  Yes, I’m crazy.  I would’ve liked to include some of the “real” flowers on the inside, but it would have been too bulky.  No good, so I stuck with simple.  Finally, I lined an envelope to match:

Now it’s your turn!  Get inspired by the projects created by the design team and guest designers, then create your very own flowered project and enter it on the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog by Sunday, September 14th at midnight PT.  The design team will pick their favorites, and TWO talented winners will be chosen to receive prizes from this month’s sponsors, Crafty Secrets and Heartfelt Creations!  For challenge rules and more details, visit the Craft Hoarders blog.
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you liked today’s post and are inspired to create your own project for the Craft Hoarder’s Anonymous challenge!  Have a lovely day 🙂

This is just amazing! All that fussy cutting! Simply stunning. I had to laugh…I say all the time, if I use this item, then if I need it later, I won’t have it!!! So it sits in the hoard…why? Why? LOL This is why I buy extras! hee hee Thanks so much for being one of our wonderful guests at Craft Hoarders Anonymous this month!

“WHAT IF?!” Oh my, how delightful your writing style is, but not as delightful as your creations. This is now a new favorite!
