Celebrate Today Bright and Cheery Birthday Card
Hello everyone, and happy Monday! To give your spirits a little boost today, I’m sharing a bright and cheery birthday card. Take a look:
This was a custom card made based on one description: “He likes bright colors.” Ok! I prefer pastels generally, so finding bright papers in my stash was a bit of a challenge. Eventually I came across the diagonal stripes in a pad of paper that I hadn’t used in a while. The lime green in the background came from a “citrus” pack I’d bought several years ago, and the rest came from my pile o’ scraps. I stamped “celebrate” letter by letter in lime green, embossed it with clear powder, and stamped the light blue pattern over top. With a paper towel, I wiped any blue ink off the embossed letters – one of my favorite techniques for adding layers to a project.
I added the “today” cloth sticker from my stash along with some silver brads and a staple. Here’s the inside:
I knew I wanted to use the striped paper again, but trying to read a note written on that would be a pain, so I added a blank yellow fishtail banner. It keeps the design consistent and adds a nice space for a note.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Have a lovely day!
