Wedding Wednesday – Congrats to the Happy Couple
Hello, everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve had a Wedding Wednesday post, but I’m hoping to find time soon to work on some new designs. In the meantime, I want to share with you another custom card I made for a friend. I made her invitations earlier this year, and she tied the knot in April with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception. It was a special day, indeed! Anyway, her colors were a light sage green and cream/tan with some lavender thrown in…and here’s the card I made to match:
I started with a few pages from my newest DCWV books, then stamped away! I stamped a damask pattern onto the green background layer, then used lavender pigment ink to stamp swirls onto the ripped newspaper print in the corner. Then, of course, I used my favorite “Mr. & Mrs.” stamp for the sentiment. I added some Glossy Accents to the frame around the sentiment, distressed and inked all the edges, and stitched everything together. The best part was making the bow and arranging the flowers.
Here’s the inside:
I repeated the papers and background stamping, as well as the basic layout. There was just enough room for a short note, and I was glad the damask stamping didn’t make the note hard to read.
I did make a matching box for this card, but I admit it was a little hurried and I didn’t get a chance to take a picture. Oh well!
That’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed this week’s Wedding Wednesday. Have a lovely day!
