Mother’s Day Card Inspiration

Hello again, everyone!  Mother’s Day is fast approaching – are you ready?  I have one of two gifts done so far.  Gotta get working!  Anyway, I have 2 cards for your inspiration today.  Take a look at the first one:

I was so pleased with this one when it was finished that I wanted to keep it for myself!  I love the soft colors, the layers, and the handmade flowers.  Another thing that makes this card pretty great is that all the papers came from my scrap container.  Every once in a while I go through all my paper scraps and organize them into little packets of coordinating sheets; I paperclip them together, and when I need a card fast (or am lacking in the inspiration department) I just grab a pack that looks good and turn it into a card!  I learned this little trick from my incredibly talented mother-in-law.  Here’s the inside of the card:

I found the poem online, and it reads,

For a mother’s heart and a mother’s faith

And a mother’s steadfast love

Were fashioned by the angels

And sent from God above

~Anonymous

I typed it up, printed it out, and added it to the card.  No stamping on this card.  Just lots of fun with paper 🙂

And here’s the second card:

This one also came from one of my scrap-packets, and was based on a Mojo Monday sketch, I think.  My favorite parts are the dry embossing and the border punch along the top.  I wrote the sentiment by hand and left the inside blank, with room for a note:

There you have it!  I hope you have found some inspiration in these cards.  I’m off to work on that second mother’s day gift!

Have a lovely day!

Melody, these are just so gorgeous! I love the way you arranged the embellies around the die cut sentiment in the first card. Thanks for my very lovely hand made roses and the sweet container. I am so blessed to have you as my daughter in love! xoxoxo
