Sing For Joy – Watercolor Card for a Spring Birthday
Happy Monday, everybody! There’s still plenty of snow on the ground here, but now it’s starting to melt into slush. Yuck. It all makes me wish for Spring to arrive! Fortunately, the temperatures are warming up, but in the meantime I made a card full of Springtime cheer. I hope you enjoy it:
I started by stamping those adorable chubby birds from the Crafty Secrets “Sing for Joy” set and embossing them in white. I went to town with my watercolor paints then gently ran a damp cloth over the images to remove the excess paint from the embossing. Then, I fussy cut all those flowers and leaves and birds. Am I crazy, you ask? Probably. The rest was pretty simple, I just picked my coordinating papers and cut them to size, layered some script tissue paper and a doily, and added some stitching around the edges. After stamping and embossing the sentiment, I popped those sweet birds up on foam squares and called it done.
Here’s the inside:
The same coordinating papers, a smaller bit of doily, and more stitching make the inside match the outside. The sentiment is simple and there’s plenty of room to write a personal birthday greeting.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed today’s post and that your weather is improving, too. Have a lovely day!
