Burlap and Silver Valentine, Masculine and Full of Texture
Happy Monday, everyone! It’s been a dreary day here, steadily getting colder and threatening more snow. Needless to say, I’m staying inside, and staying inside means lots of crafting! I have another valentine to show you today; take a look:
This card started with a question – can I bend a paperclip into the shape of an arrow? The answer was yes! I threaded it through a burlap heart then sat staring for a little while trying to envision the rest of the card. Finally I remembered a stack of corrugated paper I’d been given for Christmas and knew what to do! I inked up a piece of bubble wrap with brown ink and used it to stamp a subtle pattern onto cream paper, layered my hearts, added some brads that look like screws, and adhered that to a kraft card base. Then, I stamped the “you & me” sentiment with VersaMark, embossed it with silver powder, fussy cut it, and popped it up on foam squares. And that’s it! Simple, easy (OK, except for the paperclip bending part), and a great non-traditional valentine! Here’s the inside:
I did a little more bubble wrap stamping, wrote the sentiment by hand, and embossed some hearts to tie everything together. As usual, I left plenty of room for a little note.
If you’re interested in owning this bad boy, shoot me a message or look for it soon in my Etsy shop! As always, thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day!
