Shabby Chic Valentine for Mojo Monday and Dynamic Duos
Hello everyone, and happy Monday! I’ve got another Valentine for you today, this one inspired by both the Mojo Monday and Dynamic Duos challenges. Below you’ll see the sketch and colors for this week’s challenges:
And here’s the card I came up with:
As you can see, I turned the sketch on its side and changed up some of the shapes – that’s what I love about sketch challenges, you can really make them your own. I started by embossing a piece of white cardstock with my Spellbinders “Butterfly” Impressabilities for a lovely, subtle texture. Then, I used a couple newly-acquired dies (they were on super clearance at Michaels…72% off, I couldn’t resist!) for the sentiment label and striped tab, and a border die to create the decorative stripe in the pink rose paper. I applied the sentiment – a rub-on I’ve had in my stash for a while now – and set about layering everything. Once I had all the layers where I wanted them, I stitched around the edges as messily as my perfectionist self would allow and adhered everything to the card base. I popped the sentiment up on foam squares and added a few pearls and handmade flowers for decoration.
I kept the inside relatively simple with another rub-on sentiment and some space for a little note:
And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it! It’s available for sale, so contact me if it’s just what you’ve been looking for 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day!
