Hello again! I hope you’re not tired of Christmas cards yet, because I have many more to share! Today I have one card to share with you, and it’s a card I’m very pleased with. It turned out almost exactly the way I envisioned, which is always a special thing. Take a look:
The inspiration for this card came from the little stocking stamp that I’ve been dying to use for over a year now. As you can see, I used it twice 🙂 I actually stamped it 4 times, though, twice on red cardstock and twice on green, then I fussy cut and paper-pieced to get the results you see here. Everything is embossed in gold, which I think is just so elegant. All three stockings are popped up on foam squares and “hanging” from the mantle/sentiment line. I used my Martha Stewart Custom Stamp Setting Kit to letter the sentiment, “By the Chimney with Care,” and embossed it in gold. It didn’t show up quite as clearly as I wished, but it fits nicely with the rest of the card.
I always like to make the inside of my cards match the outside, but I also like a clear space for the card-giver to write a short note or at least sign his/her name, and with dark or boldly patterned paper like this sometimes it can be a challenge. Here’s what I came up with this time:
Well, that’s it for me! I hope you enjoyed today’s “By the Chimney with Care” card – I certainly enjoyed making it. Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day!
