Hello, hello! I know, three posts in just over a week, you probably don’t know what to do with yourself right now 😛 I certainly know the feeling! Wedding stationery orders come in waves, and recently the tide has been in the outward phase. The great thing about that is I get time to make stuff just for fun! It’s quite refreshing to let my creativity go a bit.
Today’s card will hopefully make you go “awwww.” When I finished, I sat staring at it and smiling for a good while before carefully packing it up to send to my dear friend who requested the special order. Even Joel smiled and told me several times how adorable it was 🙂 See what you think:
I adore baby cards. Soft colors, the cutest little animal ambassadors, buttons, banners…it doesn’t get any better! This card started with the baby elephant. I pulled out some matching papers and embellishments (the corners, buttons, and orange and green paper buttons were all in a set with the elephant, so they match perfectly!) and just started trying random combinations. Finally, I settled on a basic design, but something just wasn’t quite right. I realized that the white paper was just too stark, so I grabbed a little star stamp and got to work! Much better!
I always like to make the inside of the card match, or at least coordinate with the front. Here’s what this one looks like:
I lined the envelope with the orange gingham paper, et voila! Pretty thrilled. What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day!
