Happy Monday!

Hello, friends!  I don’t have a project to share with you today, but I wanted to post anyway.  This past weekend was simply wonderful, and made me happier than I’ve felt in quite a while, so I thought I’d share a couple highlights.  Literally, a couple 🙂

It started with the Electric Run, a super fun 5K with loud music and glow sticks and light shows, that benefits the Special Olympics.  I had an absolute blast with two of my sisters-in-law!  Check us out in our awesome glow-gear:

The next day, I spent time with a good friend talking about stationery for her upcoming wedding, a few precious hours visiting with my in-laws, and then headed to my folks’ house.  I love family.  Especially my family 🙂

That afternoon, Mom and I both got haircuts (see the picture below).  At the salon, I got to reconnect with a sweet friend from high school, and unexpected and very pleasant surprise!

Doesn’t Mom’s hair look so sassy and fun?!  I’m still getting used to my hair…it does funny things when you let it air dry and don’t have a professional fluffing and spraying it for you.  I might have to change my super-low-maintenance (read: completely au naturale) hair care approach just a bit.  We’ll see.

I spent the night in my old room, then went to church with my family in the morning.  It was a wonderful message, centered around Philippians 4:4-6 :

“Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Powerful words that felt like they were meant just for me.  Love it when that happens.

The drive back home was a breeze, and the rest of the afternoon and evening was spent lounging with my darling husband, watching baseball, eating, and playing Mario Kart.  What a terrific day!

This morning, I walked into my studio/kitchen to this sight:

What a MESS!  I’ve got a lot of cleaning to do before I can get down to business, but the sun is shining, my coffee is strong, I kissed my man goodbye, and I’m ready to face the day joyfully!  I hope this post somehow brings you joy and encouragement and helps you have a very  happy Monday 🙂
