A Sweet Birthday Card

Hello again!  There are many many birthdays coming up in our family in the next couple months, so this is your official warning – you’ll be seeing lots of birthday cards from me!  Today’s card is the first of those…let me know what you think:

This sweet little card is for my sweet, little grandma.  She and I both love soft colors and lovely things, so it’s never difficult for me to create a card she’ll enjoy.  The papers came from another of my scrap “kits,” handily paper-clipped together for easy card making.  The rose, leaves, and chevron pattern are stamps from The Sweetest Thing Tangerine “Hello” Stamps by My Mind’s Eye, as is the sentiment frame.  The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from Inkadinkado’s Expressions and Frames set.  I love how such a hodgepodge of supplies can come together to make such a nice card, don’t you?  There’s certainly something to be said for packs of paper that come together and coordinate perfectly, but I enjoy stretching my creativity by mixing and matching scraps and elements.  The one thing I was wishing for (and have been wishing for all summer) was my sewing machine.  Some stitching around the edges and through the middle of the pleated paper ribbon would just be perfect!  Just over a week and I’ll have my sewing machine back at my disposal 🙂  I can’t believe how fast this summer is flying by!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed the first of many birthday cards!
