May the Force be With You

Hello again!  Fun card today.  One of Joel’s colleagues recently accepted a job offer and is leaving soon, so Joel asked me to make a card for him.  Catch: he wanted a Star Wars themed card!  Say whaaaat?  I don’t even have anything remotely space-themed in my stash, and we’re currently snowed in so I couldn’t run out and buy anything… I put my thinking cap on and came up with this simple card:

Storm Trooper 1

Ok, so it’s a simple layout, but making that storm trooper helmet wasn’t so easy!  I’m very proud of it.  I was going to stamp “May the force be with you” on the front, but Joel said he preferred it on the inside, so I kept the outside like this.  I thought about fashioning a paper X-wing, maybe R2-D2, just crowding a bunch of stuff in there (how fun would that be!?), but as I told you yesterday, I was feeling under the weather and was plum tuckered out after making a storm trooper and light sabers.  I did at least spray the black background with gold Perfect Pearls mist to make it look space-ish.  Honestly, I’m still pretty thrilled about the storm trooper.  teehee.

Thanks for stopping by, let me know what you think!

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you made that Storm Trooper helmet on your own, and the light sabers too. They’re perfect! You are so clever and talented. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

What a great job you’ve done with this amazing card! I wouldn’t change a single thing. I hope you at least made a paper pattern so you can reproduce it. I’m gobsmacked!
