Something Different; Who Journals?

Who else is happy it’s Friday?  I always look forward to weekends because Joel’s not usually so busy and we get to spend some quality time together.  It’s nice.

Anyway, today I decided I needed a little break from making cards, so I thought to myself, “Self…what haven’t you done in a  while?”  And I realized- a journal!  So I set out to make a journal, and here’s the result:

life-journal-1

And the inside:

life-journal-5

A couple things about this journal:  First, I covered it using paper that was used to pad a package Joel received recently.  I always hate throwing it out, but I don’t use it often enough to justify saving all of it…so I was excited that I found a use for it!  Next, the washi tape, or rather, the washi tape look-alike 🙂  Yes, I “made my own” washi tape.  Super neat and really quite easy.  Follow this link to learn how to make it yourself! And finally, the little sheets of notebook paper.  I made those too 🙂  I cut the paper down to size, then used my 1/8″ hole punch to make a row of holes at the top of the paper.  All I had to do then was tear it up a little to make it look like I’d ripped the pages right out of a spiral notebook.  Not bad, eh?  It’s the first time I’ve ever done that but it certainly won’t be the last!

If you’re interested, you can find this guy in my Etsy shop.  Have a wonderful, safe weekend!

You rocked it out on this journal, Melody. I love the inked up brown paper, and the washi tape treatment. (Clever you, to make your own!) I also love your cluster of flowers and buttons. Beautiful stamping, and a beautiful design.
