Hello, hello! It’s time for another Mojo Monday contest! (I’m a little late this week, but that’s not really what counts now is it?) Here’s this week’s sketch:
I saw this sketch, looked at a couple of cards done by the design team, and had an apostrophe! (Hook anyone?) Here’s what I came up with:
Here’s a slightly closer view for you
First, I stamped the background with VersaMark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then it was a matter of layering all that lovely paper. I usually only have one border around whatever I’m framing (more like the sentiment), but I love the way 2 borders gives the card more depth and visual interest. I stamped the sentiment and flourish with Tim Holtz’s peacock feathers distress ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder. I then proceeded to fussy cut the flourish, layer it on the light brown paper, and fussy cut that out as well. What’s that you say? Why don’t I use my handy dandy new Cuttlebug? That’s a great question! The simple answer is that I don’t have any dies yet 😛 I’m working on it! Meanwhile, I’ll continue to fussy cut 🙂 As a final touch I added a few blue rhinestones for some sparkle.
What do you think? Don’t forget to enter the contest yourself! It ends on Sunday, January 13th, so get crafting!
