Happy New Year everybody! Sorry I’ve been MIA for the last few weeks. We went home for the holiday and stayed busy for practically 3 weeks straight. It was so wonderful being home for a while and coming back was kind of tough, but there’s certainly something to be said for being back in your own place. All my clothes are back where they belong, I know where everything is in my tiny kitchen, and even better, I have all my craft stuff at my disposal again!!! Hooray! I’ve even added to my collection a bit– I now have a Cuttlebug! YES! I can’t wait to get some dies and get started die-cutting.
So here are a couple things I made over the holidays. First up, chocolate “marble” cheesecake. As you can see, it’s not marbled, and that’s because anytime I try to marble it it all just smears together, so I just layered it. Does anyone have any tips on how I can improve my marbling technique?
Just FYI, that was the prettiest cheesecake I’ve ever made. Usually they’re all cracked and uneven, but this time I cooked it in a water bath. Gorgeous. And the crust was delicious- Graham crackers, sugar, cocoa powder, and butter. Mmm-mmm good 🙂
The second item I made was a quilted, reversible bag to hang on my sweet grandma’s walker. I designed the bag with a pocket on one side and velcro-closure straps. I prefer it with the pocket on the outside, like the first two pictures, but the blue fabric is also quite lovely, hence the reversible feature. I’m very pleased with the results and I hope it serves Grandma well:
I hope your new year is off to a good start! One of my goals is to be more consistent with my blog posts…get ready for some mad crafting!
