Welcome to Paper Melody’s! This is my first foray into the world of cyber-writing, and I’m pretty excited and a little nervous! It’s my hope to create a space where crafty people can come together to share and explore the world of paper crafting…or even just crafts in general. But I’m getting a little ahead of myself! First, I’ll share a little about me and then jump into more details about this blog.
My name is Melody and I’m addicted to creating things 🙂 Paper crafts like cards, invitations, journals, and notepads are my main area of interest, but I also love to bake, sew, knit and crochet. Sometimes just for fun I pretend to be a painter, interior designer, master chef, candlestick maker, or anything else that catches my fancy! I’m a dangerous woman in a craft store. Currently I’ve been focusing my endeavors on card making and expanding my cooking/baking horizons.
In October I married the most wonderful man in the world, Joel, and I’ve enjoyed being domestic as we settle into our new life together in our tiny apartment. As he works towards his Master’s degree, I cook and create and try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Do I use my biology degree or follow my creative passion? To be determined! At the moment though I’m leaning towards (ok, so maybe it’s more like I’m running excitedly in the direction of) the creative side of things, and starting this blog and an Etsy shop (shameless plug! http://www.etsy.com/shop/PaperMelodys ) are my first little baby steps in that direction.
So, more about Paper Melody’s! I wanted a place not only to share my work with others, but also to share ideas and learn from other creative people. Paper crafts will be the center of attention, but don’t be surprised to see posts about anything and everything else, and don’t be afraid to contribute! I’d love for this to be an interactive forum for us to share with and learn from each other. Sometime soon, after I’ve gotten into the swing of blogging, I’d like to have featured artists/guest bloggers regularly. Please contact me through the (as-yet-non-existent) “Contact Me” page if you’d like to contribute! I can’t wait to start sharing ideas!
Have a lovely day!
